I truly think Lelo messed up the marketing on this one. Lelo Tara is sold as a couples toy. And it is, of course. But it is extraordinary as a solo toy for women.

The specs:

This is a U-shaped toy, with a wand for insertion and a disc for clitoral stimulation. Because it’s intended as a couples toy, the wand isn’t big—about the size of a finger—so that a penis can also fit inside. Once the toy is on, the wand gently rotates, stimulating the female G-spot and the penis that is under it. It’s got some pulse/wave patterns built in. The version I have doesn’t have a waterproof charging port. It’s charged by USB.

Caveat—I have never used this with a partner. As it’s marketed as a couples toy, I would have never bought it. It was gifted to me, and I figured what the hell?

Cons:

First—I don’t like that the charging port isn’t protected by a silicone plug. This toy is going to stimulate her g-spot and clit and you don’t have a wetness protection plan? Stupid.

Second—this toy is fixed in its shape. So if it doesn’t quite fit your body right, you’re shit outta luck. At times, it felt the u-shape of it was a tiny bit short, so the button might not provide you constant clitoral stimulation.

Third—the on/off button is barely an indent on the side, so sometime I’m fumbling in the dark to turn it off.

Pros:

First—my first reaction, when I put this in, was that it reminded me of oral sex. Actually, I think it mimics oral sex better than Lelo’s Oral 2 oral sex toy. Why? The wand inside rotates. When it does that, it pulls the button on the clit in a little. So you get a bit of pressure as well as the rotating stimulation.

Second—surprisingly, I can often go hands free. Not all the time, depending on how my body feels, but often. Not that I’m doing anything with my hands, but I like the feeling of laying back, and imagining that someone is pleasuring me while I just relax.

Third—it’s Lelo, so it’s high quality and should last you a long time.

The Lelo Tara always does it for me. Even at high, I find it gentle, which again, really reminds me of oral sex. And the mechanism of the wand and button pulling together every few seconds, offers a pressure and rhythm that I just don’t find in other toys.

I am DYING to try this with a partner. But as a solo toy, it is still one of the best. And that’s why I recommend it highly. It’s incredible versatility.
